Google chrome does not open

I tried again and I still get the same message about closing google chrome windows & try again!. Are you saying I should delete the profile first? When I start up chrome for the first time, it goes to my homepage. If I were to close chrome and open it again, it would go to the Google site..

Thanks for the answer, Ronnie, but I did all that before. When I try to open google search or google chrome, all I get is the start page all over again. All I get when I try to start Chrome is the 'whoa. .' message. I have been a user of Chrome for several years and want to continue. Suddenly it will only.

Old Title : Shortcut will not open from desktop . For about a month now, I have not been able to open up Google Chrome straight from either the desktop. When I start up chrome for the first time, it goes to my homepage. If I were to close chrome and open it again, it would go to the Google site.
